This self portrait was created in spring 2020, because I had no model available while times of social distancing and self isolation. I also felt the need to bring some colorful mood into my life and used violet as the dominant color for the complementary color scheme in this oil painting. For my set up I have used a three quarter head composition with natural (cool) day light from my window and the mirror on the left side next to the painting.
Colors/Limited Palette: ultramarine violet, yellow ochre, light red, flake white replacement, ivory black; Medium: Gamsol mineral spirit, refined linseed oil and stand oil
