Covid Blues

I was laying on my bed in late March feeling so low and sad and just done with how different and difficult life had been lately. I decided to watch the daily live broadcast by Eric Rhoads and he said “I want you to do a self portrait”. So in the midst of the video and all my dark feelings I flipped my phone around, snapped a picture of myself, and painted it over the next couple of days. I am happy with the outcome and looking at it now I can recall exactly how I felt that day. I remember wanting to do a larger portrait, but all the art stores were completely closed at the time. So I had to “make do”. Which is another effect on all of us because of Covid.
