Cathartic Self Portrait - Just after my father died, New Years, 1989

I painted this after receiving news that my father had passed away from a heart attack early in the morning of January 1, 1989. Overwhelmed with feelings I painted this staring at the mirror, crying, sobbing, laughing, the gamut of emotion as I saw him in me and myself in him.
