Painted in Jim Gandee's studio this July, 2020. Even though Jim and I are very different painters I
have always admired his work and focus on painting. I have visited a lot and while sitting in
his studio, I was so struck by the shapes and color on the wall, the years of use in the studio
and the overall power and spirit I feel in the room. I painted Jim while he was at his easel but
I wanted to give the overall effect the studio had on me.
