"River of the Poets- Rome"

A painting of myself painting along the Tiber River in Rome. These promenade walks in Rome have long been a favorite locale during my painting trips to Italy, either by myself, with friends or with students. The title refers to the placards on the opposite side that have quotes of famous Roman poets from antiquity, like Cicero, Terrence, Lucretius and Virgil etc. The location and vistas also appeal to me as so many famous historical painters have worked here. For example Corot did several along the shores here too.
