This oil painting on board is myself "figuring it out", reflecting all the thinking, the analysis, the thousands of decisions I have to make at every step of doing a painting - the compostion, the content, the color palette, which portion of the painting to attack next, which brush to use, which value of which color, which brush stroke to take next.
