Oil on canvas. Alla prima. This painting is the first self portrait I've painted in over 30 years. It is the product of a wet paint competition and truly painted from life. You will notice that I've captured my closed eye habit of seeing, used to gain the 2D perspective necessary to render a 3D image on a 2D surface.
