This self portrait was created late in 2019 as an allegory for the distress and unease felt by myself and I imagine so many these days. I was reflecting on identity and the dissonance felt in environments and times that do not resonate with our hearts, feelings of powerlessness, and the self deception necessary to continue. It was painted in oil on stretched linen.
