Engrossed in Painting ....Then and Now

This selfie portrait was painted without a photo or reference .....from visual memory plein air/studio finished alla prima. The painting depicts me painting in a studio at college 55 years ago. An intentional whimsical perspective.shows me studying my art work intently. This is where my love of art began. The painting is naive....I was naive about painting. The canvas was prepared with a thin wash of yellow ochre and wiped. No exstender was used.
