Blind Hope

Blind Hope, Selfie of the Artist
Blind Hope
Would humans be able to function if they could see their own mortality? Would they still give meaning to their lives once they’d seen the limits of it?

The myth of Prometheus gives us some clues about the solitude of the Human condition in relation to the unknown, or even with our strong and intimate beliefs. When Zeus withdrew fire from humans leaving them die, Prometheus, the rebel hero who loved humanity, took it back and restored it to humanity. However, equipping human beings with the power to obtain progress meant he had to provide something else too; to create technology, arts, and knowledge. Human beings needed to give themselves a prospective of immortality so Prometheus spread the blind Hope which gave human beings the oblivion to the hour of their own death.

We all need to fool ourselves with precious and refined lies to believe we are going to last forever, trying to mark our way in history or arts or creating empires and sometimes those lies turn out to be true.

Zeus wants to strike his revenge on Prometheus and humanity which explains why he summoned Pandora to earth. He gave her a box filled with all the evils of the world, she wasn’t supposed to open the box, but she was curious and so she disobeyed the God and now the universe is contaminated with all the worst. However, one thing remained at the bottom of Pandora`s Box, in the shape of a little green bird to allow us to remember that there was and always will be Hope .
