The Giving Tree

I’ve titled this painting “The Giving Tree” because I wanted to honor a friend of mine, Karen Kolada Assel. Karen has been an inspiration in terms of character and giving of her time, particularly when I was at an ill period in my life. I’ve used the Tiffany lamp in reference to her strength and spirituality as symbolized by the branches. Karen is an artist, including her family which is why you see a framed picture, monster sculpture on the table and photos reflecting a creative time. She is a pillar of stability, serenity and grace and I hope I’ve captured this sentiment.
