This is the third in this series (see previous starting with Blessings Beyond Our Energy Centers and continuing with Arboreal Ancestors) of self-portraits where I am sharing my mental understanding and somatic experiences as a self-discovery process and returning back to my first painting subject love: the human figure.
I continued this series with Tap Rooted to as elegantly depict the root system as the foliage seen in Arboreal Ancestors. I also wanted to convey the role of a tree’s root system to nourish and nurture, similar to the human placenta.
As mentioned my previous entries, this tree has been an important partner in my self-discovery process generally and specifically during the current COVID19, racial justice, wild weather, political races and economic upheaval.
In the interest of focusing on my painting, I have not yet written a blog article about this painting, but will soon!
